There are some parts of running That Oven Feelin’ that can be a bit frustrating. This morning I clicked over to my comment folder to check for spam. Up until now, I’ve been pretty lucky with spam comments. I have multiple filters in place that usually catch and file them away automatically. Then, I just hit the “empty spam” or “empty trash” button and call it a day. Not this morning. There were over 8,000 lovely comments waiting for me.
If you need designer handbags, shoes, or medications, I’ve got you covered.
I emptied the spam folder (the smaller of the two) first. My server was not happy. I managed to take down the entire website with just one click. Panic ensued. Having a website go down is never fun. Luckily, I got it back up and running within a few minutes, however, I’m still stuck with an additional 7,100 spam comments.
As you can see in the comment section below, I’ve put into place one additional measure to reduce the amount of spam. I even think it’s kind of cute.
Since I managed to take down my website first thing this morning, I needed a good pick-me-up. These Green Juice Shooters really do the job. Made with oranges, apples, and spinach, they are a great source of iron and vitamins A, B, and C.
Kale has become very popular within the past few years in smoothies and juice. I’m just not sure I’m on board yet. The spinach doesn’t have much taste, so it’s tastes more like orange juice than salad greens.
If anyone has a great recipe for kale juice or smoothies, let me know! I am always willing to give it a try!
The first time I made this juice, I used blood oranges as well. The red juice from the blood oranges combined with the green spinach turned the juice brown. It tasted great, but didn’t look appetizing at all. Needless to say, that one won’t be making an appearance on That Oven Feelin’.
I served these Green Juice Shooters in half-pint jars. It’s the prefect size for a morning pick-me-up!
- 2 oranges
- 2 small red delicious apples
- 2½ cups baby spinach
- 2 tbsp water (optional)
- Remove a thin layer of the orange peel with a vegetable peeler, leaving the pericarp or the white portion of the rind. Cut the orange into large pieces that are easy to feed to the juicer. Set aside.
- Cut the apple into large pieces, leaving the skin on. Set aside.
- Slowly add the cut oranges, apples, and spinach, alternating between the three. Stir and serve.
Nutrition Facts serving size is approximately 8 oz. or 1 cup of juice.
