Ingredients

  • 30 Townhouse or Club crackers rectangular shape
  • 8-10 slices of high-quality bacon
  • ½ cup of brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of red pepper chili flakes optional, for those desiring some heat
  • A pinch of freshly ground pepper

Instructions

  • Begin by preheating the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper or foil, ensuring it covers the entire surface.
  • On top of the lined baking sheet, place a wire rack. This is essential for proper circulation and cooking of the ingredients.
  • Systematically arrange the 30 Clubhouse crackers on the wire rack. They should be spaced to ensure none of them overlap.
  • Carefully cut the bacon slices into thirds or fourths, adjusting based on the length of both the bacon and the crackers. Then, place a piece of bacon on each cracker, ensuring it's centered lengthwise.
  • Generously sprinkle brown sugar on each piece of bacon, making sure the entirety of the bacon slice is covered. This step is crucial as the brown sugar will caramelize during cooking, enhancing the flavor and binding the bacon to the cracker.
  • For those desiring a touch of heat, lightly sprinkle red pepper chili flakes and ground pepper on each cracker.
  • Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and allow it to bake for approximately 15 to 20 minutes. It's important to monitor the cooking process, ensuring the brown sugar has melted and the bacon achieves a crisp texture.
  • Once removed from the oven, allow the crackers to cool to room temperature before serving. This ensures optimal texture and flavor when consumed.
