Ingredients

  • Butterscotch Chips: 11 ounces
  • Peanut Butter: ½ cup
  • Crispy Chow Mein Noodles: 4 cups
  • Roasted Peanuts optional: ½ cup

Instructions

  • Preparation of Baking Sheet: Initiate by lining a baking sheet with parchment or wax paper to ensure ease of removal of the haystacks upon completion.
  • Melting Butterscotch Chips and Peanut Butter: Proceed by placing the butterscotch chips and peanut butter into a large bowl suitable for microwave use. Heat this mixture at 50% power for one minute. It is imperative to continue heating and stirring at 30-second intervals until the mixture attains a smooth consistency.
  • Incorporation of Peanuts and Chow Mein Noodles: Should you opt to include peanuts, this is the juncture at which they should be stirred into the mixture. Subsequently, gradually add the chow mein noodles, ensuring each noodle is thoroughly coated in the butterscotch mixture. Employ two forks to skillfully drop mounds of the mixture onto the prepared pan.
  • Chilling Process: Conclude the procedure by chilling the haystacks for 30 minutes, or until they are sufficiently set.
