Ingredients

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • cups freshly grated Parmesan cheese divided
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 cup Caesar salad dressing click for homemade recipe
  • ½ cup sour cream optional

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly coat an 8×11½-inch baking pan with nonstick cooking spray to prevent the chicken from sticking.
  • Prepare the Chicken: If the chicken breasts are uneven in thickness, place them in a resealable plastic bag and use a meat pounder to achieve an even thickness of approximately ¾-1 inch. This ensures uniform cooking.
  • Season the Chicken: Sprinkle both sides of the chicken breasts with 1 cup of the freshly grated Parmesan cheese and the freshly ground black pepper. Arrange the seasoned chicken breasts in the prepared baking dish.
  • Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the Caesar salad dressing and the optional sour cream until well combined. Pour the Caesar and sour cream mixture evenly over the chicken breasts. Sprinkle the remaining ½ cup of grated Parmesan cheese over the top.
  • Bake the Chicken: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 30 minutes, or until a meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the chicken registers 150°F (65°C).
  • Broil for Crispiness: Switch the oven to broil and continue cooking the chicken for an additional 2-4 minutes, or until the top becomes golden brown. Monitor closely to prevent burning. The internal temperature should reach 165°F (74°C) when fully cooked.
  • Rest the Chicken: Remove the baking dish from the oven and cover the chicken loosely with aluminum foil. Allow the chicken to rest for 5-10 minutes to let the juices redistribute, ensuring a moist and flavorful result.
  • Serve: If desired, garnish the chicken with freshly chopped parsley before serving. Enjoy your Baked Caesar Chicken warm.
