Equipment

  • Large mixing bowl
  • Microwave-safe bowl
  • Rubber spatula
  • Baking sheets
  • Parchment or wax paper

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 4 cups corn cereal squares
  • 4 cups rice cereal squares
  • 2 cups toasted oat cereal (plain O-shaped)
  • 2 cups mini pretzel twists
  • 1 cup salted dry-roasted peanuts
  • 1 cup red and green chocolate candies
  • 24 oz white candy coating (almond bark or vanilla candy melts) chopped if in large blocks
  • 2 tbsp holiday sprinkles optional, for garnish

Instructions

  • Line 2 large baking sheets with parchment or wax paper and set aside.
  • In a very large bowl, combine the corn cereal squares, rice cereal squares, toasted oat cereal, pretzels, and peanuts.
  • Place the white candy coating in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave at 50% power in 30-second bursts, stirring well after each, until completely melted and smooth (about 2–3 minutes total). Do not overheat.
  • Pour the melted coating over the cereal mixture. Gently fold with a spatula until everything is evenly coated.
  • Quickly fold in the chocolate candies, then spread the mixture onto the prepared baking sheets in an even layer. Add sprinkles on top.
  • Let stand at room temperature until the coating sets, 20–30 minutes, or chill briefly to speed it up. Break into clusters and serve.

Notes

Storage: Keep in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week, or refrigerate for a firmer bite. Swaps: Use peanuts or another roasted nut, or omit nuts and add more pretzels. Add-ins like crushed candy canes or mini marshmallows can be stirred in after coating. Melting tips: If using a double boiler, keep heat low and avoid any water contact to prevent seizing.
