Ingredients

  • 8 ounces of egg noodles
  • 1 pound of ground beef
  • 16 ounces of French onion dip
  • 10.5 ounces of condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup of grated cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup of sour cream
  • 1.5 cups of fried onions

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven: Begin by setting the oven to 350°F (177°C). Concurrently, prepare a 10-inch square baking dish by applying a light coating of nonstick spray.
  • Prepare the Noodles: Cook the egg noodles in accordance with the instructions provided on their packaging. Once cooked, drain the noodles and transfer them to a large mixing bowl. Set aside.
  • Brown the Beef: In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat. Continue cooking until the beef is completely browned and no pink remains. Afterward, drain any excess grease from the skillet.
  • Combine Ingredients: To the large bowl containing the cooked noodles, add the French onion dip, condensed cream of mushroom soup, and sour cream. Stir these ingredients together until they are well combined. Following this, incorporate the grated cheddar cheese and the cooked ground beef into the mixture.
  • Bake the Casserole: Transfer the entire mixture into the previously prepared baking dish. Spread the mixture evenly and place the dish in the oven to bake. It should bake until the top is golden brown and the contents are bubbling, approximately 25 minutes.
  • Add Fried Onions: Remove the casserole from the oven and evenly sprinkle the fried onions over the top. Return the dish to the oven and continue to bake for an additional 5 to 10 minutes.
  • Cool and Serve: After baking, allow the casserole to cool for approximately 5 minutes. This resting period helps the flavors to meld and makes the casserole easier to serve. Enjoy your meal promptly after.
