Ingredients Notes and Tips

Dive into simplicity with this delightful Air Fryer Peanut Butter Cookies recipe. Here's a quick rundown of what you’ll need and why each ingredient is crucial:

• Egg: Acts as the binder in the cookies, ensuring they hold together beautifully while adding moisture for a chewy texture.
• Sugar: Not only does it sweeten the cookies, but sugar also helps them achieve a golden-brown crispness on the edges.
• Creamy Peanut Butter: The star of the show, providing flavor, fat, and structure to the cookies. Opt for creamy to ensure a smooth, even texture in your cookies.

How To Make Air fryer Peanut Butter Cookies

Making Air Fryer Peanut Butter Cookies is as easy as it gets, but let's break it down into detailed steps to ensure perfect cookies every time:

1. Preparation of Dough: Start by whisking the egg in a large bowl until it’s slightly frothy—this introduces air into the dough, helping with the texture. Add the sugar and creamy peanut butter, blending until the mixture is smooth and uniform. This ensures that each cookie will have a consistent flavor and texture.
2. Shaping and Cooking: Once your dough is mixed, scoop out level tablespoons and roll them into balls. Press each ball with a fork to not only flatten them but also create that classic criss-cross pattern on the top. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F to get a nice, even cooking environment ready. Grease the air fryer basket lightly to prevent sticking. Cook the cookies in batches, making sure they’re spaced about an inch apart. They’ll need about 3-4 minutes to turn lightly browned and crispy on the edges.

Storage Options

For storing your Air Fryer Peanut Butter Cookies, you have a couple of great options. First, once completely cooled, you can keep them in an airtight container at room temperature where they’ll stay fresh for up to a week. For longer storage, layer the cookies between wax paper in a sealable bag and freeze them. They can be enjoyed for up to 3 months—just let them thaw at room temperature or give them a quick warm-up in the microwave for a just-baked taste!

Variations and Substitutions

While the classic Air Fryer Peanut Butter Cookies are delightful, there’s always room to tweak and experiment. Here are some easy variations and substitutions to keep things exciting:

• Alternative Sweeteners: Swap out the sugar for coconut sugar or a sugar-free substitute if you're watching your intake.
• Nut Butters: Almond butter or cashew butter can be used in place of peanut butter for a different twist on flavor and texture.
• Add-Ins: Consider stirring in chocolate chips, crushed nuts, or even a dash of cinnamon to the dough before cooking for an extra layer of flavor.
