Ingredients Notes

The Philly Cheesesteak Cheesy Bread blends iconic ingredients to create a flavor-packed dish. Here's what you'll need and why each component is crucial:

• Frozen French garlic bread: Serves as a robust, flavorful base that crisps up beautifully in the oven.
• Philly cheesesteak meat: Typically ribeye, this is the star of the dish, bringing the classic cheesesteak flavor.
• Worcestershire sauce: Adds depth with its rich, umami flavor that complements the meat perfectly.
• Provolone cheese: Melts smoothly and provides a mild but distinct taste that ties the cheesesteak components together.
• Green bell pepper and onion: These vegetables add crunch and freshness, balancing the richness of the meat and cheese.
• Seasonings (Garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper): Enhance the overall flavor profile, making each bite perfectly seasoned.
• Olive oil: Used for sautéing the vegetables, it helps to soften them and bring out their natural sweetness.

How To Make Philly Cheesesteak Cheesy Bread

Ready to whip up some Philly Cheesesteak Cheesy Bread? Here’s a step-by-step guide to ensure you nail it every time:

1. Bake the Garlic Bread: Start by baking the garlic bread according to the package instructions. This creates a crispy, flavorful base for your toppings. Keep your oven on as you’ll need it for melting the cheese later.
2. Prepare the Meat: In a skillet, cook the Philly cheesesteak meat over medium-high heat until it’s completely browned. Be sure to drain any excess fat, which ensures that your cheesy bread isn’t greasy.
3. Season the Meat: Add Worcestershire sauce and seasonings to the browned meat, adjusting quantities to taste. This step infuses the meat with rich flavors that are quintessential to a good cheesesteak.
4. Cook the Vegetables: In the same skillet, add a bit of olive oil and sauté the chopped bell pepper and onion until they’re tender. This not only cooks the vegetables but also helps lift any flavorful bits left from the meat.
5. Assemble the Cheesy Bread: Layer some provolone cheese on the pre-baked garlic bread, then evenly distribute the seasoned meat and sautéed vegetables over the cheese. Top with another layer of cheese to ensure every bite is luxuriously cheesy.
6. Final Bake: Pop the assembled cheesy bread back into the oven for about 5 minutes, or just long enough for the cheese to melt and bubble. This final bake melds all the flavors together and gives you that perfect cheese pull.

Storage Options

To keep your Philly Cheesesteak Cheesy Bread tasting its best, store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. For reheating, a quick stint in the oven at 350°F until warm and melty will revive that just-baked taste and texture.

Variations and Substitutions

Personalizing your Philly Cheesesteak Cheesy Bread is part of the fun. Here are some variations to keep it exciting:

• Different Meats: Swap out the traditional ribeye for chicken or even thinly sliced pork for a different take on the classic.
• Cheese Varieties: While provolone is traditional, feel free to experiment with mozzarella for stretchiness or a sharp cheddar for a bolder flavor.
• Vegetables: Add mushrooms or substitute red peppers for green to tweak the flavor profile to your liking.
• Bread Choices: If garlic bread isn’t your thing, try a different pre-baked base like ciabatta or focaccia for a delightful twist.

With these customizable options, you can easily adapt the recipe to suit any occasion or taste preference, ensuring that your Philly Cheesesteak Cheesy Bread is always the hit of the party!
